Key dates

Submission closes on        30 September

Final review and refinements      1 October

Note: The review and feedback process starts as soon as you submit your proposal. Your chances for acceptance is greatly improved by submitting early as you’ll receive more feedback and support to finesse your proposal.

What are we looking for in a proposal?

We look both for insight and pragmatic application. As an attendee I would like to learn about the context, starting point, the goals, the approach taken to achieve the goals, how well they were met, surprises and key takeaways with time in the session for questions and answers. We suggest that session proposers allow 10 to 15 minutes for questions and answers.

  • Case studies from innovating companies
  • Scaling
  • Continuous Innovation and Change
    • Lean Innovation
    • DevOps
    • LeanUX
    • Lean Startup (in the Enterprise)
    • Leadership
  • Agile/Kanban outside of the IT
  • Lean Coffee / Ask a KCP / Red X Kanban coaching
  • Games / Simulations
  • Kanban 101, Kanban Advanced

Please indicate which of these best describes your session.

Who Should Submit a Proposal?

In all ways and manners, we try to assemble the most diverse conference we can, and we do that with your help.

The Kanban community is stronger than ever and we’re still reaching new areas, new industries, and new users. Be a part of advancing Modern Management Methods by helping us change the future and share your experience.

You don’t need to be a well travelled professional speaker to get on stage at Lean Kanban Benelux.  We welcome first timers and will work with you to make you feel at home.

What Kind of Sessions can I Give?

Talks:

These are the traditional talk sessions given during the conference. They’re mostly 45 minutes long, but we offer a limited number of 90 minute slots. We want something for everyone. If you think you have a topic but aren’t sure how to propose it, contact our program committee and we’ll work with you. We’d love to help you come up with a great proposal. We want to see the content and we can work with you and iterate on the session name if you want us to help.

Take a look at which talks made it in the last year. There are a ton of great presentations in there. Hopefully we can include yours in 2015. 2013 Program

Workshops:

As with the talks, we are looking for workshops that can grow this community at any level. We aim for workshops that will advance knowledge of Kanban, advance this community, and shape the future.

As workshops are in an interactive classroom-like setting, they require much more preparation and space is limited.

Lightning Talks:

Lightning talks are a good way to share in a short informative and fun way. These sessions are 5 minutes each.

Open Spaces:

Whether you’re an expert wanting to solicit feedback on something or coming with a specific learning need, open spaces are your opportunity to propose and run a session on the day.  You do not need to submit an Open Space topic in advance.
